Patch Notes V0.016 Skill Tree and Weapon Update
This update took a bit of time to complete but it's finally done. Getting the skill tree to work like how I wanted took some time to figure out. Had to ask a few friends for assistance and consult with an AI to get it just right. Still a few things to edit but it's all functional. With this update, STARTING A NEW GAME WILL BE REQUIRED, Shouldn't need to make another new game after this one for awhile, I hope. There's no plans to add anything that would require that at least.
If you didn't know yet, between this update and the last I released the game on Steam for free. https://store.steampowered.com/app/3654130/Levania/ It has the windows version of the game.
So if you haven't played since the last update, there's a lot that's changed.
Major Changes:
- Added a visual skill trees and adjusted some of the skills dependencies.
- Overhauled the design of the SeaSide Mine area.
- I just realized the Boost Action plugin was boosting all damage by 3x + 30, it's now reduced to 1.0x + 0. It was also boosting some skills that give buffs with an extra 3 turns, that's been removed.
- Removed Boost actions and related items/skills. (It just doesn't fit the game anymore)
- Removed VisuStella's Skill Learn System.
- Now only 4 Starting TP modes to choose from, with the rest needing to be bought from a new merchant you can encounter first in the Nexus Forest. Several TP modes have had changes to them to either buff/nerf them to try and make them more balanced depending on what you want.
- Changed the name of almost all natures, changed the percent gain/loss from 2% -> 4% except for luck which got 8%, reduced the amount to choose, and added flavor text to them.
- All weapons have had their damage lowered and all weapons are now upgradable to Tier V. Now, Tier I - II can be crafted at an anvil and Tier III - V are craftable with a blacksmith.
- Added 10 new accessories that can be equipped by most classes that change the attack element of basic attacks.
Minor Changes:
- Added an indication line in forests that have unusual exits that aren't at the edge of the screen.
- Removed fixes in tutorial area.
- Default battle speed is set to fast instead of normal.
- Miners return to SeaSide mine after quest completion.
- Slightly lowered all enemy defenses and defense scaling per level.
- Slightly lowered Initiate tree classes basic attack damage.
- Fixed the game crash whenever initiate class tree classes tried to click the 'Guardian' equip slot. The best fix I could do was removing the guardian equip slot on the Bladedancer class (Thanks to YaseiKane on Discord for letting me know).
- Cephe's event should work properly now (She cannot be silenced).
- The Valley of Trees Hideaway cave is now accessible (How long has this not been accessible, I know I tested it before and it worked).
- Fixed being unable to move when entering the Seer Forest well (Thanks to YaseiKane on Discord for letting me know).
- Fixed the wolves not moving in the SeaSide Forest South Hideaway (Thanks to YaseiKane on Discord for letting me know).
- Enabled the 'Optimize' & 'Clear' options to the equip menu.
- Moved the location of the battle music changer to the tutorial room.
- Fixed Swords of Light not dealing damage properly.
- Fixed background sounds not playing properly.
- Fixed tint changing back when finishing an encounter in dark areas.
- Fixed text for the map guy in the Adventurers Guild.
- Lowered encounter rate in Valley of Trees.
- Fixed Human Male being changed to Felahna if Felahna was in the party and transformed during combat.
- Added exit in SeaSide Farm wheat area.
- Fixed the well in SeaSide farm turning followers off and clearing the weather.
- Fixed collision for SeaSide inn upstairs banister.
- Adjusted some entrance/exit points for Nexus Forest and Seer's Forest. Added exit at the top of Seer's Forest.
- Fixed infinite money in the Wishing Well.
- Added notes displaying when you are leaving the explorable area.
- Changed Winner TP Mode to Pumped which will give 10 TP at the end of each turn you have full HP.
- Fixed the twin Sorceresses battlers not being visible and crashing the game (Thanks to Casual on Discord & prepackagedoopsy on Steam for letting me know).
- Fixed not being able to progress all the way through the Valley of Trees Hideaway and removed the save/heal statue there (Thanks to Casual on Discord for letting me know).
- Changed the puzzle in the Valley of Trees secret cave to not be time based and actually not awful to figure out because it was bad and not good.
- Fixed the SeaSide Mine quest to not get stuck when clearing the orb (Thanks to Casual on Discord for letting me know).
- Removed the gazer sprite that appears when defeating the demon general (Thanks to Casual on Discord for letting me know).
- Fixed a few of the texts in the character creator not being on the second line.
- Fixed Porinths quest not completing (Thanks to Mortanius05 on Steam for letting me know).
- Fixed Shilleia's specialization choice showing the incorrect options and infinitely looping (Thanks to Guinevere on Discord for letting me know).
- Changed the TP retention ring to Adrenaline Ring which now gives an extra 3 tp per turn (Thanks to Casual on Discord for letting me know the tp retention didn't work).
- Fixed Harlequin Light Show skill never ending after you advance it to a higher level (Thanks to Casual on Discord for letting me know).
- Removed the ability for Harlequinn to learn Bouncing Magic Damage, it's not supposed to be learnable (Thanks to Casual on Discord for letting me know).
- Changed TP modes; Berserker, Assassin, & Initiator.
- Fixed Hanali and Felahna not being locked when entering the Druid Trials Dungeon.
- Fixed the followers not being unlocked when leaving the Druid Trial (Thanks to Arunay on Steam for letting me know).
- Party members are no longer automatically added back to the active formation when teleporting or ending battle (Thanks to Guinevere on Discord for mentioning it).
- Changed the crown of thorns to no longer damage you outside of combat (and no longer flash the screen red) and reduced the MAT 15-> 10 (Thanks to Hawtmod on Discord for letting me know).
- Changed the Crown of Fire to only be equippable for the Pyromancer class tree.
- Removed the shop in the Forge and Craft.
- Updated Credits
- Reduced the amount Sorcerer Heal & Revive give.
- Reduced the amount Ecomancer & Tamer skill "Rain" heals.
- Added new damage types that aren't implemented yet but some skills for Apprentice and Unkindled were given the 'Magic' damage type.
- Fixed Kristolon not being able to get any specialization for Archer or Psycho (which likely caused a softlock).
- Appropriate skills are now automatically learned, such as for new followers.
- Changed Archer tree skill icons.
- Added a new state, "Wet". It's applied when you fight outside in the rain. Increases lightning damage taken by 20% and water damage taken by 7%, reduces fire damage taken by 20%.
- Changed wild magic acquisition to be automatically learned at levels 45 and 70.
- Changed the Magicians damage skills to require a wand.
